Yes. DNP recommends removing the paper roll, ribbon cassette, paper tray, USB cable, power cable, and other attachments before transporting the printer.
Removing the media helps prevent the paper roll and ribbon from shifting during transport, which could cause ribbon damage, paper feeding problems, or issues with the cutter when the printer is used again.
Keep the printer upright and level during transport. For the best protection, use the original packaging or a properly fitted protective printer case.
Firmware updates should only be downloaded from DNP’s official support website. Before beginning, confirm that the update is specifically intended for the DNP DS620A and for your computer’s operating system.
Unusual noises, incomplete cuts, repeated cutting, paper jams, or prints stopping near the cutter can be caused by several issues, including:
Turn the printer off, disconnect the power, empty the scrap box, and inspect the accessible paper path for loose scraps. Remove and correctly reinstall the paper and ribbon before restarting the printer.
Do not pull on the cutter, force the media drawer, or use sharp tools inside the printer. If the problem continues, watch the stuck-cutter support video above or contact Desktop Darkroom or DNP Support before attempting additional repairs.
Not necessarily. If the ribbon is wrinkled, gently advance it approximately 5 to 10 inches until the damaged area is wound onto the take-up side. If the ribbon has ripped, snapped, or separated, watch the How to Fix a Broken Ribbon video above for step-by-step repair instructions.
The DNP DS620A normally connects to a computer or print server by USB and does not include built-in Wi-Fi. Wireless printing requires a compatible external print server or wireless workflow, such as AirCastPro 3 or DNP WCM Plus .
Yes. AirCastPro 3 supports the DNP DS620A and can provide portable wireless printing workflows for compatible iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS applications.
Desktop Darkroom carries genuine DNP DS620A media for standard photo sizes, photo booth strips, and supported specialty applications.
To print 2 x 6 photo booth strips, purchase the 4 x 6 print kit. The printer cuts each 4 x 6 sheet into two 2 x 6 strips.
